Haven’t been excited for a WWDC in a while. Hoping the headset is cool tech to marvel at. Have been looking forward to seeing a new hardware category from Apple. What do you think?

i think it will be cool and outrageously expensive, and it will have very little supported software or practical use at first. after a year or so, a less-expensive model will appear, and it will have a ton of new features based on user feedback, after which it will suddenly become very popular.

    sound familiar?

For sure! This thing is projected to be what? $3k or something crazy like that. If this is true, I’m priced out for now. But I’d still like to see cool hardware.

Usually, I do opt for gen 1 products, then buy again on like Gen 3 or 4.

oh, hell yeah, i surely want to see it. They’ve been working on it forever. I’m really anxious to see what they’ve come up with for xrOS and the hardware. But I’m not optimistic for gen 1.

As someone who broke like 5 original 2007 iPhone screens after basically sneezing on them or tapping too hard, I’m down to grab a gen 1 headset. Price dependent I guess, but if it’s running an M2 chip and is basically a ~$2,000 MBP strapped to your face, I could see $3,000 being a price I’d consider jumping at.

The price will probably be a huge limitation for success. Apple stores are non existent in my area, and not a lot of people will drop $3k on an experimental product without trying it first.

I’m thinking it’ll be a while before we see a V2, from some of the renderings it’ll look like the AirPods Max. I think the goal will be to invest in one when the timing is right, which will likely be a year or two out.
