Is it possible that EJ Speed has been our best defensive player this season? I know that Franklin is really good and one of our leaders, but Speed is constantly getting TFL’s, and making a lot of big plays in both pass and against the run. I know Franklin gets a lot of credit, especially because he was one of our best defensive players last year, but does anyone else think it’s possible that Speed has been maybe our best defensive player this year?

Also honorable mention to Julian Blackmon, who is probably having his best season so far while also being asked to change positions coming into this season. He has been very good this year

It’s Ebukam. 8 sacks, 13 QB hits, 9 TFLs, and 3 forced fumbles. And those have come at critical moments in games.

He’s always had the physicality, it was just learning how to play LB better and read plays before/as they’re happening. Same with Franklin. Speed is ridiculously explosive which helps him slip past blockers a lot, and he can diagnose run plays really well it seems like. I think Franklin has a more rounded out toolbox, but Speed has the better explosiveness and, well, speed.

From what I’ve seen Franklin has just been the all around best def player. He’s always there in the pile. The consistency is key. But emukaum or however his name is spelled with Buckner and Moore have been great too. Our def as a whole has stepped up big this year. I’m honestly stoked to see our def on the field not just our offense. All around just a fun team this year.

To add to all of that our coaching staff is amazing with the plays being called. The second punt fumble as they called it was pure genius. The granson rush n was amazing on 4th down. Big step up from the last two years.

I go into games know this conference that we can win vs anyone. Not just a hope and a dream.

Damn do I love me some colts football right now!!!

Edit: Franklin also knocked tf outta Henry today. I was happy 😊
