minus-squarehelenslunch@feddit.nllinkfedilinkarrow-up5·7 months agoIs there a way to get SteamLink on Quest without signing into Meta or using their shitty app?
minus-squareRedex@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·7 months agoI mean you can’t stream from a PC at all without signing into a meta account I’m pretty sure, so it’s not like it changes anything. Actually idk if you can do anything with the headset without signing in?

Actually idk if you can do anything with the headset without signing in? Yes that’s my concern but I was hoping someone would have hacked it by now just enough to make it functional for SteamVR without Meta services. Or ideally a whole different OS.
minus-squareRedex@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·7 months agoHuh, didn’t know that, what are you using to stream? Cuz if I remember correctly the meta app forces you to login.
minus-squarehelenslunch@feddit.nllinkfedilinkarrow-up1·7 months agoWhy would I need a Meta account to stream from my PC?
minus-squareRedex@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·7 months agoBecause the oculus PC app forces you to login before you can use it
minus-squarehelenslunch@feddit.nllinkfedilinkarrow-up1·edit-27 months agoYou don’t need an Oculus PC app to stream from your PC. You just use Steam. Or any number of other options like Moonlight.

minus-squareRedex@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·7 months agoYeah but I think you need to have a developer account and be logged in to sideload.
minus-squarehelenslunch@feddit.nllinkfedilinkarrow-up1·edit-27 months agoOkay but I’ve run into a lot of electronics that won’t let you do absolutely anything without creating an account first. Is that not the case here?
