That doesn’t work… and the link !wowthislemmyexists@lemmy.ca still directs me to “https://lemmy.ca/c/wowthislemmyexists” rather than “https://lemmy.one/c/wowthislemmyexists@lemmy.ca”
oh hey - that works: https://lemmy.one/c/wowthislemmyexists@lemmy.ca”
Problem is I can’t change the URLs above for everyone, there’s no concept of a wildcard e.g. https://<your instance here>/c/wowthislemmyexists@lemmy.ca
Plus, if your instance hasn’t already sub’d to the remote community, will that trick even work?
Actually, here’s the trick:
[some community](/c/some_community@server.tld)
So:
[WowThisLemmyExists](/c/wowthislemmyexists@lemmy.ca)
Gives us this link: WowThisLemmyExists
Which links to that community but within the instance you’re currently in!
(many thanks to the Lemmy Project Chat on Matrix!)
very excellent, Ill fix tonite.
