So. This is first post on Lemmy. I donât fully graps the concept. So, appently now Iâm posting here in Sopuli⊠which is like a SubredditâŠ? But what is above that? Also english is fine but as a r/suomi refugee I was hoping for more finnish.
Sopuli is a reddit, while c/suomi would be the âsubredditâ youâre looking for. Just look it up and it should pop up (if you want communities that arenât from Sopuli, and arenât subscribed to by anyone from Sopuli already, itâs more complicated)
Okay. So I found c/suomi and subscribed⊠But what has Sopuli to do with all of this? With all the registration and stuff? Sorry if itâs too bothersome to reply to dumb questions.
Lemme isnât centralized while Reddit is. In practice that means thereâs a lot of âredditsâ, every one of which has its own sub reddits, server to handle users, storage for posts and so on. Then all of those servers are connected between each other so while your account is in one instance (Soupli) youâre still able to access sub reddits from different instances. If you look up the channels (sub reddits) available youâll see they have @ part which shows where the channel is located.
