In this instance, should we ban NSFL, hardcore gore content? I think it’s not a problem since anyone can subscribe to the community they want but if the vast majority don’t want it, we can ban it. Decisions must be made from the beginning.

Here’s a StrawPoll link.

Edit: Looks like we are going to ban it. Commenters are right that we cannot currently list NSFW and NSFL content separately on the homepage. Since anyone can open an instance, we should let other people to open an instance on lemmynsfl.com. Also moderating these communities can be hard too. So it’s okay.

Right now I’m working on disabling blur and even showing content without logging in. So your argument is going to be invalid.

Also, there’s already a pretty simple way to disable the blur using the stylus plugin (there was another post about it in another com earlier today), so the blur is already not enough. Just reinforcing your point.

FWIW, I think you’re making the right call to ban it from lemmynsfw and letting someone else open up lemmynsfl if they want.

Hi yay, I wanted to ask you if you could create a discussion post for a new rule I intend to propose: every post in every community of this instance MUST be marked as NSFW.

I won’t waste time explaining the obvious reason, but there is a more pratical one too: I was scrolling ALL - NEW and I stumbled upon an uncensored NSFW post whitout looking for it and without the possibility to block it before I could see it, because it was not marked as NSFW.

Unwillingly seeing this kind of post could (reasonably) lead to this instance being blocked from other instances.

I was discussing about it today in my instance, and I argued that, until the experience of the users would not be unwillingly altered from lemmynsfw simply esisting there was no reason to block it.

What happened to me constitutes a very good reason to do so, as long as things stay like this.
