Closer to home for me, but with the same idea of terraces and mixed-use development, there are the projects by Renée Gailhoustet and Jean Renaudié in Ivry-sur-Seine next to Paris… not prefab (afaik) but built in an urban context and as social housing, which is also worth a look.
I believe the “point” of the 3D model was a “because we can”.
I think it’s really really cool plus it’s a demo of their software and what their software can do.
Creating the 3D model of the architect’s original vision (much greater than the final product that was built) is super cool and super satisfying for him as well.
Your examples are super cool too, and if I’m not mistaken must be inspired by Habitat 67 if I have my timelines correct.
