…how many of you will stay? Personally, I wiped my Reddit history and deleted my account, so I’m definitely here to stay. I can see, however, that a number of people see Lemmy more as a distraction until the blackout is over. I wonder what that number would be.
I’m intending to stay, barring poking in and seein if there’s any extra niche communities that could fit at home here (there’s a good few cat ones), I wiped my accounts and am currently waiting on a data request export. Once I can get that then I’m wiping my accounts and not turning back.
I’m mostly a lurker, but certainly plan to stay. I probably will use Reddit occasionally, but that usage will be significantly reduced and limited to desktop use only as I have no interest in installing the official Reddit app. Too many web searches lead back to Reddit posts for me to drop Reddit completely.
Deleted my accounts and all post/comment history as well. I’m fully Lemmy only now.
Yep, staying
I’m here for good. Yes it will take some time to get the lay of the land but, I’m already confident this will become a much better home for me.
Idk if I’m gonna stay, but I won’t return to reddit.
Don’t forget that until the end of this month that reddit will change a lot of stuff. I won’t be surprised that new lemmy users will migrate here on July 1.
Yeah, in a way its kind of good to have this 2 stage migration, that gives server operators an opportunity to iron out some kinks.
I think there needs to be more communities so I can really leave reddit. Also not for sure about the messaging option on here.
Deleted four accounts of 3-11 years. Yup. Bye. I ain’t waiting around to see reddit turn into “myspace after tom”
Planning on sticking around! I’m losing RiF and Jerboa seems to work well enough; hopefully it continues to improve as the platform continues to get more popular. I’ll likely still check on Reddit for certain communities as they develop here, but otherwise I’m digging Lemmy and would love to see it grow!
Lemmy is one of the sites that I’m checking out to try and replace Reddit. Unfortunately, so far, I can’t find a replacement for my porn needs, but I think that’ll help resolve a bigger problem I have.
Just created an account to check out Lemmy. I’m not sure I fully understand the concept of this, but time will manage, I guess
I would really like to stay here, but I mostly used reddit on my phone and I’ve found the mobile experience so underwhelming that I have already given up on it. The MLem app crashes on me after ~60 seconds every time I try to use it, too.
If we could entice the developer of Apollo or RIF or Sync or any of the big platforms to make a really slick app for Lemmy, I might never go back to Reddit.
I’m a mobile user as well, I found that (on Android anyway) click the show desktop option in my browser has greatly improved my experience here, all 2 days of it.
Try the Jerboa app! I haven’t had any problems with it at all (the Mlem app is for ios). You can use the direct link to the Google Play store (in green below app description) off the lemmy app page linked below. It’s official and everything. I like it much better than the browser version. 😁
I second this, it is really nice to be fair.
I like Lemmy. I think I’ll stay here, and I’ll wipe my Reddit account soon. It feels strange, but Reddit also feels super hostile now.
You’re not the only person I’ve seen saying that - it might be because all the nice people have stayed away during the blackout leaving the toxic sludge to rise to the top in their absence…
the sludge has been dominating for a while, reddit hasnt been cool for a while imo, just a lot of habitual hanging out
i was honestly looking for a reason to leave. i dont care about deleting accounts but if i comment ill be here as long as i keep getting replies
Wiped and deleted. I’m putting down roots.
