Shouldn’t the “libertarian right” be just as pissed (or even more pissed) as the authoritarian right in this meme?
Idealistically, libright would be opposed to the Confederacy due to it being a hyper-agrarian neofeudal anti-capitalist polity and against everything they theoretically stand for even as radical free market fetishist loons.
Realistically, yeah.
Nope, fuck the Confederacy, they got what they deserved
Why the fuck would libertarians support slavery?
Libright in the states tends to be shy republicans.
They would support not having regulations preventing slavery and allowing the market to decide.
That’s at least a non-braindead analysis.
Some strange ancaps might, but they’d only be okay with you selling yourself into slavery. Involuntary chattel slavery? Jesus,
What would stop it though?
For most libertarians the government would. For some it would be security agencies. For some it’d be covered by polycentric means.
Let’s be clear, this isn’t a solved problem with hundreds of national governments. Slavery is alive and well right the fuck now.
More things that lasted longer than the Confederacy:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003)
The Nickelodeon run of You Can’t Do That On Television (1981-1990)
Tom Baker’s portrayal of The Doctor on Doctor Who (1974-1981)
The AMC Gremlin (1970-1978)
The Ford Pinto (1971-1980)
The reign of the Petronas Towers as the tallest buildings in the world (1998-2004)
The partnership of the Cookie Crisp Crook and his dog, Chip (1990-1997)
LiveLeak ded???
You didn’t see it before because there was nowhere to watch it die
😭
Hilarious. Time to send this to some people and make some enemies
Also remember when they tell you a flag is part of their identify and that flag existed as a symbol of a group specifically fight for slavery for the 5 years of it’s existence… They are literally pointing at the racist slave trading/owning history of their ancestors. That is who they identify with.
The most prominent founders of anarcho-capitalism had multiple quotes about how slavery was good for black people and how any reasonable society would have “voluntary slavery” as an expression of “liberty.”
