    Does this really ruin anything or just it just get your nose out of joint? The fediverse doesnā€™t have to be and ideally isnā€™t a homogeneous experience. If you canā€™t deal with minor differences like this across independent, autonomous sites, youā€™re just not going to have fun. Lighten up.

      It actually kinda does ruin something. Beehaw was setting itself up to have the defacto communities for a bunch of topics.

        Itā€™s only been a few days of massive community growth. Now that the beehaw communities arenā€™t available, Iā€™m sure alternative large communities will grow within the federated instances. And itā€™ll only take a few more days to get them up to where the beehaw versions were.

        This is actually really good for lemmy.world, as itā€™s the second largest instance so it will likely wind up with the largest versions of those communities.
