I’ve been here for a few days, so I figured I should at least introduce myself. I’m an engineer from Georgia, and I must say that I’ve been enjoying this little corner of the fediverse, even though I haven’t interacted much.

I suppose it’s affordable compared to those cities, but my rent has more than doubled in the past ten years…

Yeah. Everything is up these days. I don’t think 100% over 10 years is exactly normal though, but I haven’t bothered to check, I suppose.

I know how you feel. Well, Atlanta wasn’t exactly mellow before, but it felt a whole lot more mellow than it does now.

I feel like I’m being way too much of a debbie downer, but these issues are all fresh in my mind since I’m currently in the process of moving back to Atlanta.

It’s strange. They’ve done some much construction in Midtown. Lots of new high rises, everything is pretty and new and fresh. I’m used to a slightly run down, occasionally seedy, and plentifully weird Atlanta. The old Atlanta felt homey, and now it’s just… wrong somehow.

Yeah I know the feeling. The haunts and somewhat dodgy neighborhoods I used to love are gone. It’s happened everywhere.
