You guys have any thoughts? When we decided to try this, we didn’t talk much about whether to say no politics or some politics. I think we all agreed that we don’t want yet another “all politics all the time” instance but where do we draw the line?

I like the idea of “bar rules.”
That is, a bar doesn’t exist to just talk politics in. If it did, that would be a pretty lame bar. And (almost?) no bar would advertise it based on the views of its patrons. But, if two people are having a beer and talk about an election, that’s perfectly normal. Maybe people would even congregate at a bar to watch election results.
Similarly, behavior that would get you kicked out of a bar should get you kicked out of here. Right now, we all know each other and that’s not something we need to really consider, but I think it’s a good starting place assuming someone (anyone) ever joins the instance from outside the club. Haha.
And again, just like a bar wouldn’t have a list of written rules for behavior, we don’t need it. At least not now.
I’m fine with “bar rules.” Do we need a separate community for politics? I think news is enough.
Let’s do it. “Bar rules.”
