So maybe three years ago now, I crocheted the Boatneck Top w/ Kimono Drop Sleeve by Kristen Stein and loved every second of it. Took it with me on the bus every morning, made friends with the designer on Instagram, I was SO into this pattern I can’t even tell you!
And then after wearing it once, I lost it. Literally no idea how. We’ve turned the house upside down more than once looking for it, but I finally had to admit it’s gone.
So after a lot of procrastination, it’s time for v2.0. And I really need to have this done quite quickly because we’re going on a cruise in August and I have a TON of stuff I want to make.
Therefore, public accountability post! Started this last night and we’re 4 motifs in to a 26-motif top. Since lace looks like nothing until it’s blocked I’ve draped it on the dummy to attempt to give you a clue 😅

Update time! Front now has a whole second row of motifs, and the back has a row and a half that it didn’t have in the first pic. 14 motifs out of 26!
I’m actually thinking I might leave it at the two rows, add the border, block it less vigorously than originally intended and wear it as more of a cropped thing, can’t decide. Hmm.
Ignore the questionable pairing with this half-sewn skirt btw, just couldn’t be bothered to take it off the dummy 😄
