I was trying to create an additional account 2 times with 12 hours difference and every time when I press “Sign Up” waiting animation spins forever. Is it me or Lemmy.ca experiencing issues?

Not sure how to link on Lemmy yet, but if you look in the Lemmy.ca support community there is a post discussing this there. Can I just paste the URL?.. https://lemmy.ca/post/710416

Likely something it doesn’t like about your password. Are you using a random password generator from a password manager by chance?

Also could be user name is too long or you have already registered using the same email (email has to be unique / account)

I had a similar issue, I had a space at the end of my username. That would cause the login and signup buttons to spin forever.

Had a similar issue trying to log in from a iOS firefox, tried it with different browser (safari) and it worked. Haven’t had any problems on Firefox for android/windows.

Lemmy is still in very early development and there seems to be a lot of issue with signup (which sucks as most people will just give up). I’ve had it work sometimes in one browser, then not other times but work in another. Doesn’t seem to be browser or platform specific, just timing or change in what values are being used. It doesn’t return any user feedback to the user on validation or other error so all problems look the same at the moment.

Using Safari instead of Chrome solved the problem. I tried so many variations with different account names/emails/passwords that finally I sent a version where account name and explanation why I chose this name got diverged… let see if I get the approval
