I’m waiting until the moment I see an ad, then cancelling on the spot.

Shame, I do think Prime has the best non Trek sci fi collection of all the streamers and I enjoy the convenience but I cannot abide ads and refuse to do anything that would help make the ad transition successful.

Yep, I’m in the process of building a media PC around an old SuperMicro server motherboard

Hundred percent. Starting to look for a good external HD. Probably need to look into seedboxes etc and get into legit sailing the high seas etc. It’s a hassle but screw those profit hungry bastards.

Worth spending the time and effort IMO. All of Trek is on my hard drive and will stay there forever, no ads. This new move just means I’ll cancel prime and impulse buy less bullshit, saves me money both ways.

Legit! Do you back up the hard drive or how do you guard against failure? (One of my large ones failed one day and I lost a huge swathe of my collection.)

That’s something I’ve been considering myself actually. SSDs are coming down in price so I’d like to build a redundant server, I’m also still a student when it comes to this stuff
