I’ll start:

Adding a bit of white vinegar can help with deodorant stains or strong smells like cigarette smoke after a party.

Ink will come out with alcohol. Most food stains are fat soluble and can be removed with dish soap and water. Stains that can be removed with alcohol or dish soap will be set by an acid, like vinegar so remove the stains before removing the smell.

Don’t bother separating all your clothes by color. As long as you don’t have white T-shirts in there, the colors will be fine.

Also, get unscented detergent if you can. It’s usually marketed as “Free and Clear”.

If you want to wash new cloths with your old ones (especially with white clothes) you can use a color catcher. I usually use them when I’ve got new clothes and wash them for the first time.
