My grandfather was conscripted by the German Army in WWII, but I can still make fun of Nazis and celebrate the failure of the Axis. The majority of people that participated in the Jan 6 insurrection were also victims of propaganda, that doesn’t mean I’m sad they failed and it doesn’t make it socially unacceptable to celebrate that failure.
