If you incorporate these ingredients in your cooking, your left-overs will last longer:
- honey
- salt
- garlic
- sugar (only in high amounts according to feedback; small amounts shortens the life)
- ginger
- sage
- rosemary
- mustard
- cumin

I’ve noticed Indian style lentils are my longest lasting meal prep by far. They contain like nine of these. I’ve never seen them mold or get slimy, but I’ve thrown some out after a couple weeks anyway because I just couldn’t believe they’d still be safe.
It looks like most of this can be grown too. I live in the Midwest region of the U.S., so l’d have to look to see. If i find any helpful planting guides or region guides I’ll comment them.

You’re missing vinegar! I just made some cashew ‘cheese’ and a splash of vinegar keeps it fresh for twice as long.
