0. Disclaimer, intro, forewords, whatever
This is the long version of the rules. It’s being shared here for transparency and disambiguation, but the short version (in the sidebar of the community) should be enough in most cases.
By principle this mod team (currently just me) treats users as reasonable until proved contrariwise. As such, most moderative actions will be gentle; talking is preferable over a banhammer.
Even then, the rules shall be enforced. They’ll be interpreted by spirit, and in a per case basis. Furthermore the mod team reserves itself the right to remove content or users from this community if there are grounds to believe that, by doing so, the community will be overall better.
In case of conflict between these rules and ani.social’s terms, policies or guidelines, the later takes precedence.
1. Keep it on-topic.
This community is about isekai. There’s a lot of leeway on what you can call isekai, but this is not a green flag to discuss random stuff like politics, software or whatever.
Off-topic might be tolerated if neither divisive nor obnoxious, but only in the comments.
2. Post discussion material.
This community is for discussions. It is not the place to advertise your art, or to share image macros (“memes”).
Image-only posts will be only accepted if they’re clearly introducing a discussion directly related to isekai.
3. Mark spoilers accordingly.
Plot elements will be considered “spoilers” when not featured in at least one of the media (LN, manga, anime, etc.) of the series in question.
To discuss spoilers in this community, you have two options:
- create a post to discuss spoilers from a certain medium. Make sure to include the word “spoiler” in the title and where those spoilers are from, but not the spoilers themselves.
- use the spoilers tag. Like this:
::: spoiler Cautious Hero LN spoilers
Seiya is OP.
:::
4. Be tactful with NSFW content.
Don’t post explicit NSFW pictures, and don’t introduce NSFW discussions or pictures to SFW posts.
Discussions about NSFW series should be tagged as NSFW.
Don’t get too graphic with text descriptions of sex scenes.
5. Be reasonable, and treat other users as reasonable by default.
Four types of behaviour will not be tolerated in this community:
- Witch hunting - to accuse someone with little to no grounds to do so.
- Targetting users based on whatever group they might belong to.
- Passive aggressiveness - derisive remarks under a façade of politeness.
- “wah, TL;DR!” - discouraging thoughtful participation of other community members by complaining about its length.
Don’t treat other individual users as ignorant or stupid by default.
Whining, upfront aggressiveness, uncalled prescriptions, uncalled advice and assumptions should be avoided.
Nobody needs to write a full treaty on logic to post here, but don’t drag discussion down with irrationalities.
When in doubt, use the report button.
Feel free to use this thread for any sort of metadiscussion. Including thoughts/suggestions/criticism regarding those rules.
