Keen to hear about some progmetal albums to check out if anyone feels like sharing. My 3 would be pretty safe bets.
I think mine are pretty safe, too:
- Periphery — Juggernaut
- Haken — Visions
- Between the Buried and Me — Colors
Hard to choose 3 as im fairly new to progmetal and been listening mostly to btbam, trying to listen to more recently though.
- between the buried and me - the great misdirect
- the human abstract - digital veil
- world is quiet here - zon, is one i recently listened to and really enjoy so ill stick it here.
maybe not exactly my top 3 but the first ones that came to mind
If you’re a fan of BTBAM and TWIQH I definitely recommend checking out Others by No One if you haven’t yet. Book 2 is an incredible album!
Yeah im aware of them, i havent checked them out yet
hard question but my bet is:
- opeth - ghost reveries
- between the buried and me - coma ecliptic
- wilderun - sleep at the edge of the earth
I’ll go with:
- Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane
- Pagan’s Mind - Enigmatic: Calling
- Symphony X - The Odyssey
Got the opportunity to finally see Symphony X live last year. They’ve been one of my favorite bands for a couple decades now, but holy hell are they insanely good live.
Yes they’re a great live band! Love it when they play The Odyssey live
Awesome I have a few albums to check out. Mine would be:
- Opeth - Blackwater Park
- Mastodon - Blood Mountain
- Gojira - Live at vieilles charrues 2010
.
If 2. not considered Prog swap with CTS 3. Non official release, swap with the live Les Enfants Sauvages
- Opeth - Ghost Reveries/Watershed (tie)
- Caligula’s Horse - In Contact
- Haken - Affinity
Some love for watershed - I haven’t seen it near the top of too many lists, but I enjoy it it has a good mix of styles.
I’ll have to mention Igorrr because nobody did, which is strange.
Igorrr - Savage Sinusoid
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBakgOHKI-gDevin Townsend Project - Deconstruction
Caligula’s Horse - In Contact
Karnivool - Sound Awake
My favorites change all the time, but right now: Catch 33, The Joy of Motion and Holocene.
