However, it was Doom (1993) that solidified the FPS genre with its immersive 3D graphics, multiplayer capabilities, and captivating design. A “boomer shooter” emulates 1990s FPS games like Doom, characterized by fast-paced action, skill-based movement, pixelated graphics, and a plethora of weapons.
