John Bannister Goodenough, the American co-inventor of Lithium-ion batteries and a co-winner of 2019 Nobel prize for Chemistry, has passed away. He was just a month short of turning 101. Goodenough also played a significant role in the development of Random Access Memory (RAM) for computers.
What a champ! This guy not only brought lithium ion battery technology to the world, but he was also instrumental in research into solid state batteries which are just hitting the market now and will be as much of a game change as lithium ion batteries were. He wasn’t just Goodenough, he was the absolute BEST! This man changed the entire world for the better TWICE!
