Yea I’m skipping to the end of the alphabet for a special play because I felt like it. My first play tonight wasn’t metal so here’s this.
Glorious Ukrainian black metal with avant garde jazz and noir influence.
Points for the Kayo Dot sticker
I just counted, I have 14 kayo dot/maudlin/ driver records.
Fave? I’ll be honest, I saw them live and they were incredible, but fell off Kayo after the third or so album. There’s “progressive“ and then there’s “mind numbingly avant-garde“
Personal favourite is probably either coffins on io or plastic house.
They returned to heavy after a few years of experimental avant garde through the John zorn years. If you liked their debut Choirs of the eye you’ll like hubardo and some of the other recent albums.
I’ll give both of those a shot. Thank you!
Their most recent album is even back to the original Maudlin of the Well lineup.

going to have to wait a while for me to get to K in the alphabet. I have a lot of Kayo Dot / Toby Driver material.
I remember liking their most recent album when it came out. I should listen to that again.
False Light is excellent but I think I personally prefer the more experimental styles on Love Exchange Failure and Futility Report.
