The article doesn’t mention any issues with them healthwise, which I expect they would have if there were any, considering the perseverance angle, so I think it’s safe to assume they’re lazy assholes.

My dad is in his 70s and started driving for Uber/lyft. It really bummed me out when I heard this—and it’s not because he’s retired and wanted some extra cash. He never retired and this was his best option—in his eyes. He thinks no one is hiring old men like him. I don’t know if that’s even true. But it bums me out.
In a functioning society a 70+ senior shoul be able to not have to work. He should not have to feel like ha have to be hired.

It being just a number is a problem. Minimum wage should be a function: its output depends on inflation that we’ve introduced to the economy since minimum wage. (And IMHO, in part because of it)
