I would like to follow some nice and informative mastodon accounts. Any recommendation?

    Follow #hashtags, my friend.

That’s the easiest way to find people with interests like your own.

Yeah thanks, that is the way. I found very often content related to tech and FOSS, wich is great.

I had to unfollow most generic hashtags because it was just random people talking about anything and using the tags, often in foreign language, or it was some personal stuff I don’t care about. It really gave me a bad first impression since it made mastodon look more like facebook or sth where people dump their personal stuff online, rather than a valid news source.

I’d instead recommend just following news or publications or groups that actually curate their content.

True, it depends on the hashtag. Stuff like #woodworking & #dadjokes have worked out well for me.

#Videogames is just a barrage of Youtube spam & people saying that they’re streaming on Twitch.

If you like tech, especially throw backs to old computers you might like Veronica explains. She has 2 accounts on mastodon, one seems more active and the other on seems mostly to just point to her YT channel.

just search for Veronica explains under users/channels and both will show up

I found her cause in addition to being new to the fediverse I’m also new to Linux and found some Linux stuff on her YouTube channel.
