The man really knew about the struggles of racial injustice and its ties to things like capitalism firsthand. R.I.P. to this legend.

“They got money for war, but they can’t feed the poor.”

It’s a shame more people don’t know about this, just another person to have their revolutionary politics scrubbed from the history books. Rest in peace.

An unrelated person, but interesting nonetheless, Nikola Tesla. He never outright said he was a socialist, but is on the record saying things like:

The only positive thing in this century is the Russian revolution and the creation of the Soviet Union

I approve of the Russian revolution because it proclaimed the principle of honesty on one-sixth of the Earth’s surface

The Russians are lucky - they have socialism and Stalin. A happy people with a wise leader. I envy the Russians and feel sorry for my compatriots who are ruled by three random people

I would be very happy if Stalin visited the United States. I have a great desire to meet him, but my health does not allow me to make such a long journey

Tupac was how I got into communism. I didn’t listen to much rap growing up but started, in college, with the greats Tupac and Biggie. Now here I am. Hexbear poster.
