One thing gamers are notorious for: physical outdoor activity
The most 80s of excuses
I don’t think you can riot and play video games at the same time, so if anything they’re probably helping. It’s not like the French are unfamiliar with … expressing themselves.
There’s been almost more rioting than not lately. All kinds of causes.
It’s always strange though, because something happens in one and only one place in the world and people blame that thing on video games. If it was video games, why aren’t riots happening everywhere all the time since video games are everywhere?
Next it will be rock music and Satan.
I am not sure what other things Macron has said but blaming protests on videogames is on the same level as calling the Earth flat.
I’ve started to think that the biggest indication that someone is competent / trustworthy or not is their willingness to take responsibility for stuff going wrong. I get that we’re all a product of our upbringing and society and free will may well be an illusion, but people should still be willing to say “It happened while I was responsible, so it’s my fault and I should have done more to prevent it.”. Even then, in an organization stuff going wrong is more a matter of rules and systems, there should be a system in place that actively makes accidents impossible; but it’s different when you’re literally the person in charge of the organization.
When a companies go bankrupt, a lot of the time CEOs give interviews where they discuss “market conditions”, what’s what this reminds me of.
Macron makes a lot more sense if you assume he’s not sentient, or that every single thing he says is fed to him by a presidential AI.
Or that he lives in an ivory tower and spends his days deepthroating a silver spoon.
Yeah, we can’t blame the parent.
