Valsala, a 64-year-old woman married to a local tribal chief, Rajan, had travelled to the Peringalkuthu forest to gather fruits, but was trampled to death by an elephant that locals call Manjakomban with a past of causing problems.

These animals are taking the earth back. They know what we’re doing, and they don’t like it.

Also, some broke into a house. Your homes can’t keep you safe!

This woman was literally doing what our hunter-gatherer ancestors did hundreds of thousands of years ago, long before there was any sort of civilization, not even agriculture… and that’s still too far for you?

Okay, but what was this woman out of the billions doing to deserve this? Because it sounds like she was one of the ones not doing anything to the ecology of the area.

Guess I’m saying they are being displaced by the sheer numbers of us and are running out of habitat.

            Nothing personal against the woman.
