I don’t want people to stop protesting, but I also don’t necessarily want comrades arrested for this.
If it felt like there was a snowball’s chance, then I’m all for putting yourself on the line to extract concessions. Currently it feels like almost the entire US political machine is riding on the “kill a ton of people trolley” and barely registering what all the bumps are. They couldn’t care less and will not change based on what we do so catching a charge for this doesn’t seem worth the non-existent squeeze.
I understand Palestinians feel supported by protest actions and reiterate my support for those, I’m only pointing out where it might be right to draw the line.
Very open to changing my mind on this though, I want to believe we can actually have an impact and not just show solidarity
That was my sentiments exactly. I wish they could have stayed and made a difference, but I don’t think them staying would, and messing with the secret service probably would have brought heavy charges.
