Heard that too. Since valve is a private company they aren’t being hounded by shareholders, allowing them to give all their employees really great compensation and benefits. Iirc they have one of the lowest turnovers in the whole industry. It also lets them make more long term decisions like developing the steam deck despite the initial failed attempts at entering the console market.
Plus the income lets them take care of their employees, and to the best of my understanding it is a pretty good working environment.
