Yeah my parents are cooked when it comes to their political views. They got extremely conservative when I got older and right now it got to a point where my mum started to doubt vacinnes’ efficency. My parents also believe in a fuckton of conspiracy theories, think that liberals in my country are “communists” and are generally racist and prejudiced in every way imaginable.

The only good think I can think of when it comes to their political views is that they oppose Israel, but they don’t oppose Israel because they feel bad for Palestine and are actually anti-imperialist. They just oppose zionists because they don’t like jews

The funniest thing is that right-wingers in Poland usually use contradictory narratives to push their narrative of “communism bad, capitalism good”. Poland wants to be considered western, but at the same time it always blames the west (especially Germany for partitions and nazi occupation, and allies for “betrayal”) for its shortcomings. The Germans are also blamed for “controlling” liberal political parties, while conservatives also usually implement reforms that allow for lower taxes for western corporations and privileged treatment in special economic zones that benefit Germany. Poles know that their economy is almost totally dependent on the EU, but somehow they always want to make it seem like that the economy is a “miracle” compared to PPR. Polish political discourse is also filled with absolutely insane russophobia and orientalism, to the point where General Staff of the Polish Army, for example, shows this nonsense on their twitter account. Poland weaponizes its “victimhood” to force anti-russian and anti-communist narratives, but at the same time it wants to be like the countries that abused Poland.

From my experience, when I was a “baby leftist” aka anti “tankie” lib, what got me into reading was “watching” some of her videos. Later, when I got more knowlegable I started to absolutely despise her and hate her “politics”.

But if she has a parasocial relationship with her fans, similar to the one Vaush has then I agree, maybe I just didn’t take all of her words for granted like her viewers do
