MagSafe at night for nightstand mode, but I used to just use a Samsung wireless charging pad at night because it had a fan built into the charger which helped with keeping the phone and charging pad from getting too hot. Outside of using a wireless charger at night, I use wired to charge throughout the day because I have a cable in my bag.

The only people that should even consider the base models are those that “live in the cloud” and do super basic tasks (emails, short word documents, and stream a video here and there). Everyone else should definitely go for a Mac with at least 16GB of RAM.
