I’m not talking about just Tesla. There are quite a few companies that have been operating driverless cars. I think waymo has been doing it for years at this point.
If it were just Tesla I dont think they’d be safer than a human driver.

No, his argument is that the average human needs this standard. also, it is a model, it is by definition simplified.
His argument is the average hmuan needs this standard… so we can cut “unnecessary production” and it will be fine. I’m arguing that he cant label things unnecessary because hes found a standard wealth level he thinks is good enough. It wont work as an approach because humans require a diverse range of inputs to live happy lives and that requires a diverse and dynamic production economy.
Uh I disagree. The author is suggesting we could cut 70% of the worlds industry because he thinks that represents a good enough standard of living. If he was suggesting that everyone be brought up to the minimum standard then he wouldnt be suggesting large scale degrowth.
Which paper are you getting this from?
I’m guessing its because there is a ton of people already there creating content. Its almost impossible for 50k users to produce as wide of a range of content compared to a platform of 100M but i think we do ok here.
“safety is certainly a big part of the appeal for many users – so I allow the app to alert him each time I reach my front door.” I’m finding that people are irrationally paranoid these days. They see random acts of violence in the news and think it might happen to them but its so statistically unlikely given these are already unlikely events and these people usually middle class people living in nice areas.
I have no idea about reddit but I poison copilot data daily at work. Feeding nonsense incorrect answers and misusing the thumbs up and down feedback. Sometimes I just generate max context nonsense text over and over to try and hit the API limit. We’re not paying for the licenses because microsoft is trying to show us how awesome it is. But this week is my last week doing so because my company has decided its disabling copilot.
You dont get to where Linus has gotten without fucking up a few times. Most of his big controversies are due to bad practice of an employee and hes owned it and corrected it. The rest are due to his Spicy takes on the WAN show where he gives the ‘ceo perspective’ on consumer issues.
I’m a linux user and I regularly watch him. I would not describe LTT as “aggressively anti Linux”. They talk about linux and its flaws and sometimes their info is a bit outdated. But they dont hate linux and might be doing another linux 30day video soon.
yeah Tesla is by far the worst of all the brands.
Food waste seems pretty high across the board for every country in the world. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/food-waste-by-country
This is not infuriating, idc that a few cookies are being thrown out. People arent starving for some cookies in America. What is actually infuriating is the Trump admin throwing out entire shipments of food that could have provided people with healthy staple foods for a long period.
As dumb as this tech is in its current state, it still seems safer to me than human drivers. So far they’ve had very few accidents. Human drivers will do a dangerous maneuver to get in front of you then at the red light they’ll get out of the car and try kick your ass.
Ah hes a degrowther, makes sense. I read through his paper and I really don’t think its realistic or thought provoking. It lacks humanity and applies a utilitarian solution. Its the same as saying we have x humans producing co2 lets reduce the number of humans but instead of humans its goods he deems to be unnecessary.
His entire premise is based on what he thinks a person needs to live a good life. But lifes just not that simple and people all around the world NEED different things this type of strict partitioning fails when applied to the entire world. Part of what makes our current system work is that its dynamic, people create goods they want and those who also want those goods buy them.
As soon as you leave for work this guy opens a secret door and to his super villain lair.
How did they calculate that? I don’t believe it.
My Parents would always say “Home, James dont feed the horses”. I have absolutely no idea what it means or could mean.
I dont Judge unless the person actively talks about hating that thing. For example if someone is constantly going on about how they big tech and they havent even made a single step towards moving away then yeah im going to judge. Stand by your morals.
I know someone who is always going on about how bad fast fashion is and she buys all her clothes from Shien to wear a few times. Like come on you cant expect your words to hold any weight when you say one thing and do another. I’d never say I support gay people’s rights then give money to a gay people rights crushing machine.
The thing that blew my mind is they’re formatted the same as the posts. Its gross, dont make ads look like organic content.
Ugh how depressing
Yeah when I brought a TV a few years ago I could not find a good one that wasnt ‘Smart’ except for commercial variants that were an extra couple of thousand.
This man is answering the questions no one asked purely for the love of the game.
