I am in the same boat as you 😩
And separate volume control for notifications and phone ringer and media playback.
This.
Customization. While there has been some improvements it is so far behind Android it’s really a shame, embarrassing really.
Thanks for the tip, I hadn’t thought of that. I’ll give it a try!
I just switched from a cheap Redmi 11s to the 15 plus. I have to say that I truly regret it. There are so many limitations with ios, so few customizations are available. It really feels to me like a downgrade. Just one example, you can’t (easily) even change an app’s icon! You have to go through this whole procedure using the shortcuts app. I hadn’t had an iPhone since my 8 Plus and was amazed that they haven’t even changed the way you can arrange icons, it’s still this silly hold until all the icons “jiggle” and then rearrange. Another huge downside has been the esim only, this has caused some major problems for me. The beauty of Android is anything that you don’t like you can change, with ios this just isn’t the case. I never really liked Samsung because of the way they had all their apps/services integrated but I would say look into another brand’s flagship before going to the iPhone.
I just bought one a few weeks ago. I have to say I am completely underwhelmed. My last iphone was an 8 plus (been on Android for a few years now) and for me it seems not that much has changed, at least nothing that it has now that my cheap Android didn’t have. If you haven’t considered an Android flagship maybe check out some of them.
I didn’t realize how much of a pita an esim would be until I had to use one (I bought a U.S. Iphone esim only). So until they are way more ubiquitous I will most likely go back to a phone that uses regular sim cards.
I feel ya, I just bought a 15 plus in the U.S. but I live in México and it’s been a total pita. The other problem is you can only register your Apple ID in one country/region so many apps I need in one country are not available in the other and you can only change it once every 90 days.
I used to when I was working (for lunch breaks) but now that I’m retired hardly ever. I’d also occasionally use it for parking meters but since I moved to Mexico I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a parking meter so the answer it pi hardly ever use it.
