  • I mean ageing technology (what the person might look like after 5 years etc) was also created for human trafficking victims, and I haven’t seen it really being talked about in many years now since it came out. Seems weird to base something on whether or not you’ve heard of it.

    If the family doesn’t have a recent picture of the person without makeup, then yeah, this would be useful, since people can look pretty different without makeup. I’m the only one who has recent pictures of my wife without makeup for example, her friends and parents only have pictures of her with makeup since she normally does some when meeting them. She’s also half Chinese, so depending on how she decides to do her make up, can look way more asian or barely asian at all. If I didn’t have those pictures and something happened, the make-up pictures wouldn’t be as useful in searching for her.








  • Haven’t really seen it mentioned here, but for those who don’t know, the male chicks are not used for chicken nuggets, but primarily for pet food or plant fertilizer. Also not every country does this practice. Not only that, but eliminating eggs from the human global diet would be unfeasible. This is because eggs are the best source of protein, with only whey protein coming second. They are also the only food with such a high protein content that also contains all essential nutrients. And before someone posts “but da beans!” - no, they’re not on the same level. Although beans are a good source of protein, they’re neither complete nor are they actually as high as they seem, because the protein they have isn’t as bioavailable as that of eggs (speaking of, this is why there’s certain practices in vegan diets to gain more nutrients, such as eating leafy greens with an acid to get more iron or soaking pecans to remove the pyric acid in them to absorb the minerals they have better).

    Removing eggs from the world diet would actually lead to more ecological harm, even without more ethical chicken rearing practices becoming wider spread, because the amount of farm land needed to ensure proper nutrition for everyone with a mixed vegetable diet would be significantly higher than ensuring there’s just enough eggs for everyone.

    You don’t like baby chicks getting ground up? Don’t own carnivorous pets, and buy from more ethical egg farmers. Or if you can, honestly just get your own chicken or 2. You’ll have enough eggs with even a single chicken to be honest. Hens don’t need much space, males can be eaten once their 4am crowing drives you crazy - although they do keep the hens happy. If you can afford it or don’t have very particular diet restrictions, go vegan - you probably don’t need as much protein as you think. I used to be vegan until kidney failure, and now with a transplant am back to mostly vegetarian (at least for now until I can go back to being fully vegan). I also used to raise animals for food and farm because I came from a poor family initially. If you don’t care, then just consider eating less meat and eggs will ya? Too much ain’t good for your health either. Plus it’ll taste better if you don’t eat it every day. A weekend bbq is way more special when you haven’t had meat the prior everyday.

    I feel like there’s a limit to this. How much time has to pass before it’s ethical again? After all, many animals were harmed in the research (selective breeding) of modern vegetables too. It’s a process that took hundreds to thousands of years and a ton of livestock used as farm equipment to create something like the modern carrot.

    Poking with a modern needle or using a single cattle by comparison is a lot less sacrificial research by comparison, only it’s more recent.

    They didn’t just vote for the right wing though, they voted for Nazis. So yes, they are literally bigoted, racist, homophobes. If you support people who admired Hitler, guess what? You’re a fucking asshole of a very high degree. Being poor or troubled doesn’t make you an asshole. My parents grew up in extreme poverty in El Salvador, and they didn’t become extreme racists. I was in extreme poverty in university in the USA, I didn’t suddenly start voting right wing either, let alone extremely far right. I hated the democrats over there, but knew the right wing wouldn’t solve it because bad people don’t go good things.

    You don’t end up voting for genuinely bad people who admire one of the most atrocious regimes in human history because of frustration. You only do so because you either already have a broken moral compass, or are extremely ignorant and stupid. In Germany though, it’s more likely to be the former rather than the latter considering their history. And it’s that recent history that makes it that much more shameful for Germany, and that shows that Nazism was still not extinguished.

    You don’t deal with an intolerant group like Nazi or AfD by excusing them or reaching out to them. You don’t tolerate the intolerant (paradox of tolerance), because otherwise it’ll only be a matter of time before you or someone else is no longer tolerated. And that’s something history has proven repeatedly.




  • I did misunderstand about the association with the caffeine and your headache. But if anything, the new information provided, along with what you mentioned about water, narrows it down further to you potentially having some form of hypotension.

    You very are likely dehydrated btw. Milk and juice are not hydrating - milk is only 88% water, but the sugars and fats included in the milk reduce how much of that water your body absorbs. Likewise many juices have so much sugar that it also lowers how much water to get from it in your gut, and if your blood glucose is already high it hydrates you even less. Speaking of, have you ever done a glucose test at a doctors? Either way, water would be your best option.

    Coffee is a natural diuretic, meaning it dehydrates you faster as well. Dehydration causes hypotension as well (although in rare cases, such as me and my mother, you can experience paradoxical effects, just to keep in mind).

    High blood glucose levels and unstable blood pressure are not commonly obvious medical conditions, which is why they’re annoying.

    If you have doubts about your ADHD, speak with your doctor (not a psychologist) about it. You can also do some comparative tests on yourself (when on vacation of some sort) of before and after. Take such a test while on your medication, and then wait 3 weeks (to make sure your body is fully clear of the medication) then do such a test again (not the exact same test though). If there’s significant deviation, then you should probably keep taking the medication, but if there isn’t, then maybe talk with a doctor about it.

    It’s important you don’t quit a medication such as Ritalin at once though, so the titration schedule should look something like this:

    Day 1✓ 2× 3✓ 4× 5✓ 6× 7× 8✓ 9× 10× 11✓ 12+ stop

    Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor, just someone with a lot of medical knowledge from self study from medical and pharmacological text books due to my and family members medical conditions. I recommend to a doctor first and foremost, but used to live in the USA, where going as needed is not financially viable for many, even with great insurance.

    Lastly, if you shop around, you might find a good Omron device even cheaper on sale, if you’re on a budget. Even they’re basic models are well enough, since they are actually medically calibrated on good data sets.



  • Trigeminal nerve pain can be triggered/worsened by an enlarged vein pushing against the nerve at just the right spot. Cannabis causes hypotension via vasodilation, hence the potential trigger.

    The thing is, veins don’t grow perfectly parallel, which means hypertension can also cause pain via vasoconstriction, if the vein slightly spirals around the nerve and also constricts; think like a snake wrapped around an arm and squeezing. So it’s possible both localized vasodilation and vasoconstriction are causing these headaches, considering the times the headache is worst ("cannabis use or after waking up) and mild but constant (after stimulants like caffeine).

    If your pressure is a bit high during the day, a very small dose of a vasodilator drug taken after your medication would normalize it and that would, hopefully, stop the pain overall. You could still have orthostatic blood pressure issues too, but certain mild exercises can help with those too (assuming there’s no other underlying blood flow issues).

    But there’s not enough data to say conclusively, hence taking your blood pressure as directed, as well as throughout the day sitting (after sitting at least 3 minutes without moving much) to see if there’s any abnormalities with it, as well as the orthopedic pillow. If the pillow helps it also narrows down the cause.

    That said, if it’s the trigeminal nerve and you can’t control the veins there well through medication… Good luck I suppose. Most surgeons won’t want to cauterize because of mild (yet constant) pain. Acupuncture could achieve the same result, but that would be a scary gamble, because there’s also potential they hit the nerve wrong with the micro needle and instead worsen the pain. That would be a last result solution, assuming it’s the trigeminal nerve causing you issues.
