Pro@reddthat.comto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people switch from chrome to Brave browser and not to Firefox?713·12 days ago- Brave is more secure than Firefox, in terms of sandboxing capabilities that it inherits from chromium.
- Brave includes a default adblocker and use their own search engine, compared to Firefox which does not have a default adblocker and uses Google as the default search engine.
- Brave is more efficent in terms of CPU and GPU usage, while Firefox is more efficient in terms of Ram usage.
- Brave is relatively stable(Not a lot of surprising changes) compared to Firefox.
- Brave is better looking out of the box(Wallpapers, New Tab Page (NTP) Customization and built-in Themes).

But what if a person came and ask you explicitly for money, will you give them?
Pro@reddthat.comOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your thoughts on giving money to beggars?111·12 days agoBut what if the poor person who is asking you for money, is unable to access any help or charity?
I know that the easy answer is to not give any money to beggars and to only give it to charities, but that also has its own set of problems.

This has been studied a lot of times and mostly there is usually 2 concerns:
- How you will finance the whole thing?
- How do people act when you give them extra money?
Now, for the first concern: I had never seen anyone even answer it theoretically.
For the second concern: there is a mixed results, some studies suggest that people productivity gets lower, others suggest otherwise.
I don’t see this even applied in a small village.
Just to be clear, I am talking about the widely known UBI, there is NIT and even other universal welfare schemes. IMO, even other universal welfare schemes has their own set of unsolved issues, and very experimental and idealistic in nature.
Pro@reddthat.comOPto Ask Lemmy@sh.itjust.works•What is the solution to the current world problems?English1·13 days agoUsing something like Negative Income Tax?
The reason I am asking is because I had never heard of it being applied in practice, outside experiments and pretty minor payments.

That make me wonder if there is any other system or variable to change to get a better outcomes for us as humans and for the climate.
