So, no, not weird. When you don’t have a handful of relationships, the one close one tends to mean soo much more. It is super hard to make friends when odd, especially as an adult. You mentioned she had one other friend at work, maybe they have similar interests since she likes them? Maybe you could try to get to know them too and have a 3 musketeers thing at work? They might not be near as cool and interesting, or bring the same feelings but it could help the emotional flows have another outlet. And, maybe they will know a couple cool peeps that could lead to another awesome connection with someone they know. This is how I usually got more friends as my friends were usually more outgoing than me. They know I use them for socializing and don’t mind, part of what makes them precious to me.

Do be careful, emotions can come on strong sometimes and if she is happily married, a rise in romantic or sexual tension may be a push away and that can feel devastating.

Some friends and I went to eat at a fancy sit down place in our very late teens, dressed to the 9’s in black, baggy or lacy duds, eyeliner all around. Like, the residual, not actively high amount. $10,000 of lawyers and repeat visits to court, and the MVD department (they can each charge separately out here?) After the 5th-ish visit on the hearings, the cop comes up to us after, “proud of you sticking to your story” … then, since he didn’t show to the next one it was finally dropped. Fuck the police.

The Temptations tubes may help to get more food in? They have a decent amount of nutrient for a treat product (better than the delectibles) and there are some Churu tubes that are pretty good we found on Chewy too. We just squeeze the whole thing into a dish like it was another meal. It’s all liquid so super easy to ingest. Our girl, Dorito, had been loosing weight and now she is maintaining, which has made us feel so much better, hopefully her too!

I like to swap out with the Kung fu Majong movies too. I dont think they had as much budget to work with for them but I still love them. If you like their style (her and the husband), they may be worth a watch.

Ours is 19, has gone blind and deaf (at least mostly, we think she still sees bright light and deep dark shadow contrast) but, she still has one hell of a sniffer on her.

We get some feline lysine in a tube to add a little to our girls food in the evening. Our vet said the lysine and taurine are good for her, may want to verify for your situation. We keep some Temptations Purrree tubes around for an in-between meal hearty snack.Then we found a Bonkers hard treat with taurine too.

And of course catnip, cat grass, and little bits of un-seasoned protein treats when we are cooking (bit of chicken, tiny piece of steak). We’ll actually cut a lil pice off and set it aside before we season, then give it to her cooled as we go to eat. High protein is no longer good for her, but she gets so happy for her little nibbles we can’t help it, and it isn’t very often.

I’ll need to check out the Forza, maybe replace some of her temptation snacking with a little of that. She doesn’t eat a whole lot at once, and due to a dog and greedy little brothers, can’t really have food left to reach easy thus the regular snacking.

Oh absolutely! That thought tag may be a hangover from everyone giving me reasons I “must” have kids, or I “will change my mind” about having kids “wait till you find the right guy”. It seemed to break people’s minds that a midwest small-town girl wouldn’t want kids (same good christian folks who were also terrified I might have sex and get knocked up). It always appalled me when the conversation would take that “who’s gonna take care of you when your old” turn. I have a good relationship with my folks now, I hope I can care for them to the best of my ability as they are getting up there. May not have always felt about them that way though, took some work. I can’t hardly tale care of myself still though, and it worries me how much I Will be able to do, financially, time, etc. So yeah, came to terms with the idea of me being in a state home in general. But, having dementia or alzheimer’s in that situation, to me, is terrifying. Being 100% at the whim of a stranger and unable to express any real needs or thoughts. I love to read, puzzle, learn and play games, learn new shit in general, recognize actors by voice in under a 30 secs… y’know brain stuff, lol. Just knowing it would be gone is sad and scary.
