Wi-Fi 6e does provide additional channels, and that part of the spectrum may be fairly clear in your apartment setting.

Like others have said, the additional performance really isn’t important, and the range of 6GHz with walls and such is NOT GOOD. If you can give it direct line of sight then it might be good.

All that said, I think you are overthinking this. It’s really not necessary.

If you use a universal remote, you can program it to hit the Home Screen when you power on.

I always have 3 Apple TV devices at any given time, and we upgrade and hand-me-down each gen. I’ve had to reset my remote one time, and I’ve never had any feedback from people downstream having an issue. They aren’t tech savvy, so they’d definitely let me know.

It sounds like something is up with your device, but I’m also totally not familiar with the apps you’re using.
