Lots of things can be cast as biding their time or strategy but this is just straight up armed robbery of China that will embolden the US to do this again and again and given China’s initial statements against US tariffs there is at some level an understanding of the idea that appeasing bullies only makes the bullying or robbery in this case worse.

All the people like “oh this will blow over” need to look at things like this. It’s being whipped up into a big thing. The liberals are obediently going along with it, the bourgeois press has their marching orders and this action is clearly intended to send a message.

They’ve been trying to back-door it with porn ID laws and all kinds of obscure things but this gives them a chance to say the internet is radicalizing the youth into America-hating antifa terrorist extremists and therefore not only do we need ID laws for using online platforms but we need to repeal section 230, we need to outlaw encryption, we need to make all providers 100% legally liable for anything on their platforms even if they don’t know about it.
It’s part of the longer-term trend of creating a great western firewall and censorship machine to control the narrative ahead of the grand conflict with China which will not merely be some naval battle in the SCS but a world war with color revolutions, palace coups, invasions and military action, and much more to do the utmost to isolate China and pull as much of the world as they can into America’s yard to be pillaged and have its wealth extracted. With worsening conditions in the imperial core and discontent among the youth about unemployment and life prospects the time has also come to put the police state into high gear as they’re about to give the proles in the core even less loot while stripping the walls, voiding the basic societal compacts of government responsibility for things like basic infrastructure and so on.
I can’t believe they actually sold it. This only encourages the west’s robber behavior. Any time China has any success they’ll try and bully and strong-arm them into selling to the west with sanctions and threats. Major L move China. Losing a global influence platform just for the sake of making money off of US/western users. Sure if they’d stood fast they might have lost the US, EU, rest of the Anglo-verse but so what? The influence they’d still have in the rest of the world would be worth it.
I hope they’re only selling US operations and not selling the secret sauce algo. If they’re doing that, that’s a smart move to get some money and retain global rights and the secret sauce I suppose. The facts are he was allegedly bi, dating a trans person, killed Kirk for his hate, his family will corroborate he was a “loony leftist” and blame the internet and college most likely for taking their best attempt at raising a chud and turning him into the person he ended up as who disagreed with them on politics. Given he didn’t go on any rants about Jews or anything like that (the only other option being thinking Kirk hated white people for not being against the Jews enough) I think the chances are near zero he wasn’t just a liberal or vaguely left type person. Probably didn’t really have anything super concrete himself in terms of political ideology other than not wanting to be his parents, not agreeing with his parents and MAGA, etc which is good enough to call him a liberal/leftist unfortunately.
Nothing else really matters. This is the cold, hard, damning evidence the right needs to paint this as an assassination by a leftist. I guess we can be thankful he wasn’t a member of a communist party and it seems unlikely he organized with antifa or other groups, and he didn’t post a ton of overtly leftist political stuff for them to show around but he’ll be painted as antifa anyways (the anti-fascist song inscription on the bullet seals that) and this will be used as an example of liberal/left “intolerance” and violence against the “totally peaceable” right.
All these attempts at nuance are not strong enough and take too much thought and good faith. The right will be able to successfully blast out that he was a radicalized liberal-leftist who hated conservatives, was part of some imagined by the right “violent trans” agenda or movement they’re trying to conjure up. The likely interviews from his family where the ridiculous hogs bray about how he was a radical and changed from a good little chudlet into a crazed leftist (as defined by Fox News) will be blasted around likely by all the usual bourgeois press. The liberal conclusion will be we need to tackle “online radicalization no matter what ideology” and the right will take that and run with it to force censorship of the left on major platforms, force major platforms to feed more automated reporting data on anyone talking in too leftist a manner to the police state priority flagged, etc.
Considering what we’ve already heard of discord pro-actively giving police info on people buying t-shirts and cops calling them in a chilling effects way it’s concerning. And explains why they’re harping on the online angle so much because that’s seemingly the goal here.
I’ve admittedly been looking for some sort of zionist connection or intelligence operation since this whole thing blew up so big and stayed big. The zionists would want him dead if his alleged turning on them over campus speech and Palestine was real (big if), Trump and the nat-sec state would want him dead as a martyr for the right and an excuse to clamp down on the internet and real life and push through more draconian control as well as distract from the various issues they have (Epstein). So if there is some way of doing that they’d definitely have reason to whack little Charlie as he wasn’t really that important and his death probably does more for the movement to seize control of colleges than him living another 50 years ever could have. So we have one dead reactionary who is more useful in death than in life, one shooter whose actions make little sense.
Of course there is the consideration this person was either a groyper/Nazi or a leftist but had great opsec, hid that part of themselves effectively (including from friends and family) and left nothing for investigators to find to concretely tie them to their ideological motivation.
Worrying if not stuck down by courts. This could be a move further than even the UK’s criminalization of Palestine Action (and consequently anyone protesting for Palestine being swept up in it). Mainly in that any leftist demonstration can instantly be labeled a riot by “antifa terrorists” and goons sent in to arrest all present and perhaps even worse case ship them off to black sites or CECOT without rights for torture. It would also of course be a short hop and skip from this to totally freezing and seizing the finances of communist parties and other left groups as affiliates of “antifa” and thus materially supporting terrorism.
Can’t wait for congress to authorize private contractors to buy and hold some of the nation’s nukes as the push to privatize everything and strip the state to the bones enters its final stretch in a decade.

Because they are RILED up by it and there are objectively tens of millions of people who not only check that box but are fully checked into the propaganda machine and not indifferent. I grant there are some who check that Evangelical box on the survey who don’t give a shit but there are probably a few ten millions at least who do given my own relatives aren’t extraordinarily special in that demographic and they are wound up pretty high on freaking out. It’s definitely reinforced and driven by reactionary propaganda, Fox News, influencers, FB algorithms, etc but it’s only partially synthetic.

Clearly real people are experiencing real emotions even if manipulated and whipped up by the media. Evangelicals in particular see him as their own boy, their connection to the youth, their beloved gen-z whisperer who was totally winning kids over to conservatism and Christ on the godless liberal commie college campuses by epically owning and debating them just like in God’s Not Dead.
If you’re not seeing it it’s probably because your sphere doesn’t include a lot of these people or they’re bottling it up in the interactions you have with them (professional for example) but expressing it online or at home.
So maybe not a majority but a very big minority, perhaps 1/10 or 1/15 any of those still being huge numbers.
Get something with port forwarding if you want to torrent. Unless the only things you’ll ever be downloading are the latest TV shows within days of their release or the latest movies you’ll sooner or later run into connectivity problems.
If you’re in or intend to be in a private tracker. Get a VPN with port forwarding, anything that sabotages your connectivity could be a death sentence to your ability to stay in that private tracker by hurting your ability to get a good ratio via uploading to others.
Mullvad does not allow port forwarding period so it is not good for the use case of torrenting.
Proton does allow port forwarding but only for the purposes of torrenting on their special p2p servers.
My opinion is all VPNs are deep cover intelligence operation honeypots. Only reason they’re allowed to exist and run and shrug at keeping “no logs” for copyright trolls.
I would avoid those like PIA that are zionist owned and whose profits benefit zionist firms obviously.
So my suggestions would be either:
One more thing. If you end up just running a torrent client, set qBittorrent’s advanced settings to bind to your VPN’s network adapter to prevent leaks. If you’re running docker or a stack solution there are things like gluetun.
edit: Someone else mentioned it so I will too. There will be Black Friday say in 2.5 months or less so extend your current VPN or buy a small amount then buy a larger amount like a year at that point. If you like the VPN you can re-up at the next sale for longer.

The usual paths all require a passport to at least get to a country bordering China and then go across the land border. Just to get in a position where you don’t need to cross an ocean like a trek from say France to China over land still requires a passport from the US to get that far. Your options without a passport unless you have or can charter a private plane willing to break some serious laws in terms of filing flight plans and pretending to be domestic only before darting across the ocean or having a yacht capable of cross-ocean navigation (and getting lucky the US coast guard/navy don’t pick you up) are basically limited to fleeing to Canada, Mexico, and Latin/South America.
And if you don’t make it all the way, get deported by any country along the way back to the US any of these options would leave you facing serious charges and probably deported to a concentration camp but certainly stripped of many more rights as a felon and “suspected smuggler/terrorist” as clearly by not having a passport because of being designated a terrorist sympathizer but breaking the law to travel anyways you must be a really dangerous terrorist and thus should go right to gitmo or CECOT.

It’s a little concerning how much staying power the TP guy’s shooting has. I mean obviously the right was going to milk it for at least a week or two but they’re really, really harping on it HARD and the rest of the media is marching dutifully behind them in this and they’re really doing a full showing with doxxing and firing people.
It really does feel like a 9/11 type moment, a real shift has taken place that didn’t take place when Trump was nearly assassinated and hasn’t taken place in response to any other kind of shooting in the US. Nearest comparison might be after that shooting in an elementary school when all those really young kids were murdered and the liberals were like “this time there will definitely be change” and the chuds just responded with “nope” and that was that. But this time the chuds are marching with it and the liberals are dutifully following, the commentator class which includes every cable TV reporter and a ton of local ones are freaking the fuck out at the idea of hateful speech and violent political rhetoric having consequences. Murdering innocent kids for no reason just because you’re upset is fine and normal in this country but this is apparently an aberration we need to shut down now and severely punish anyone happy or even blithe about it.
I’m even a tad surprised it’s supplanted that much more horrific, chilling, objectively stomach-churning awful murder of that Ukrainian woman which unlike Kirk was truly chilling in the intensity and duration of the attack, violence, suffering, and death and the societal indifference of the disinterest of bystanders in intervening. Doubtless the reactionaries are going to run with both to argue we need to murder the homeless, get rid of non-whites, suppress and crush the left, and put god back in schools but the spectacle of the level of wailing and demands (which are met by liberals) for tears and canonizing of the TP guy as a saint is just a little startling even to me.

Either way there’s misdirection going on around this as various parties try to seize the narrative and his death in the name of their own movement and shape the outcome for their own benefit.

This place had a discord community/lifeboat before the website came up and as I understand it’s still around to say nothing of various other ones. It’s largely an age thing, younger people have this incredible addiction to that platform like boomers with Facebook, they just can’t avoid using it and end up using it for all kinds of things they really shouldn’t.
There are tons of young people who would do that. It’s an age thing. Zoomers love they discord and can’t get off it just as boomers love they facebook and can’t get off it. I think using facebook is an incredibly bad move yet people here admit to it. I think using facebook and being in lefty groups on it is even more wild yet people here admit to it and do it.
Let’s not forget. Initially the lifeboat was a discord group after /r/CTH got banned. People were in there for some time before this website was brought up.
