I get that concern trolling is fun, but do you really think that Apple actually needs to take their site offline for things like this? If you do, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
Welcome to the tutti-fruitti, phoney-baloney, plastic banana, good time, rock-n-roll Apple PR hype. They do this every year to create astroturf excitement. It’s like they don’t believe in their own products and have to gin-up interest with these little games. Meanwhile, every other major retailer manages to update their site without taking it offline.
Correction: more tutti-fruitti, phoney-baloney, plastic banana, good time, rock-n-roll Apple PR. Anybody who develops their own chips has this kind of facility. Apple’s chips are amazing, so it is mind boggling why they continue these trite PR tricks. Let the products shine!
