The pots are good for aeration, drainage, and minimising soil pathogens between grow cycles. I can’t imagine the expense or effort of wasting so much more soil to do it this way.

When I moved here I looked at one particular mountain daily for three years before attempting it. The first time I went up I turned back right beneath the summit due to dehydration.
