Chargers. Not because of anything positive, just because it will create positive vibes among those in charge (and a more naive section of the fan base), and keep us in our cycle of mediocrity.

No one would say MG is not great, but it still feels like he’s underrated (if only bc he’s on a team that doesn’t get as much press as others). Like it’s already been said, (assuming most double teams are lost) he’s winning about half his one on one match ups. I feel like even if you adjusted for era averages (ie: bc OL are currently in a league wide slump the last decade), these past few years would still be an all-time level run by him.

It might confuse people because it’s not “official”, but ANY/A gets closer to EPA/db when you multiply the lost sack yards by 3. The 20 and 45 constants come from the general translation of epa to yards (how many epa is one yard, etc)**, and just because we already have lost sack yards as, well, yards, losing yards is disproportionately impactful compared to gaining gaining them. ex: losing 7 yards (& the down) is much more damaging than gaining 7 yards is beneficial (because of losing the down. Losing yards by penalty but redoing the down is only a fraction as harmful). The ratio isn’t the same for all yards-lost values (especially because you have to skip some, since 1-4 positive yards are typically negative EPA already), but from those I examined, 3 was basically the average, as well as a nice round number for this formula.

When you do this, I think it appropriately rewards (or rather, doesn’t punish) the QBs that avoid sacks.

People shit on NFL TV announcers, but unless my team is playing, my attention is usually split with something else (ESPECIALLY if I’m watching live, and not delayed from the DVR), and every time I’ve tried watching the MC, it’s been harder to follow what’s going on (ie, the TV announcers are at least verbalizing what’s going on, so I can look up if it gets exciting).
