People are super mad at WotC lately for all the non magic-universe content coming out. 2025 is gonna have final fantasy cards, spider man cards,

TQ1: I’m not big on playing weird decks just to be weird/a hipster, but I do play a skullbriar deck that focuses on greater good effects rather than being a straight up voltron list.
TQ2: I played against Dong Zhou just today and had it whoop my ass hard.
TQ3: My Pinkie Pie treasures deck. Probably will never assemble this because it’s too much of a pain to gather all the specific art versions of cards and then also convince people to let me play an illegal commander.

I’m considering attending a prerelease for the first time for foundations. I never buy packs typically, because they’re poor value and because fuck WotC’s treatment of their customers, I’m voting with my wallet. The prerelease event sounds really cool though! Still leaning towards not attending.

I found The Lazy DM’s guide quite useful. It has a lot of advice on various parts of running campaigns, including session 0. It assumes you’ll run 5e, but I’ve found it useful even after I switched away from dnd. I can share the pdf with you if you’d like, send me a PM if so.

Cool deck concept!

1. Probably, yeah. But I can’t say for sure without seeing your entire decklist.
2. Hard to say, depends on your table. Do you think you need something early? A lot of the times people will just ignore you if you have no board presence early.
3. No. Unlimited hand size is usually a bait. Just discard at end step and keep the best 7!
4. Maybe. Depends on how fast the other decks at your table are. If you begin building your board after the first boardwipe (turn 5~) you’re in a really good spot.
5. With some blinks, that’s probably enough yeah.

Big up on Lotus Field. I play it in a Gandalf The Grey deck which lets me untap my own permanents frequently.

TQ1: My favourite format is cube . A guy at my LGS has an (outdated) vintage cube that we’ve been playing sometimes, and I’ve begun work on my own. Planning to include silly un-cards and playtest cards for shits and giggles. Anyone here have experience designing a cube?

TQ2: My favourite combo is Hoarding Broodlord -> Fetch Saw in Half, Cast it on the Broodlord, tutor 2 more cards up, go wild!
