  • lack of mass production probably and cuthroat capitalism. the expensive bikes cater to a niche of bike riders who the business knows can afford to buy them. a lot of these bikes have specialized parts made in specialized countries by craftspeople which up the price of production and in addition they offer some kind of free maintenance you are also buying. the real question is why are cars and other bike so cheap, and thats because of mass production factories and cheap manufacturing methods and economies of scale

  • Look the problem is that is that any official actions by any government is done on paper and you may have “good” interactions or good feelings with any number of people in their governing organizations, but technically on paper they are very clear on their objectives, that is the annihilation of the state of Israel and its citizens. The question is how can you allow them to bring anything they want inside the country without supervision when it is part of their written policies in laws to use what they have available to attack another country. If they changed their constitution, that would be a first step to trust.

  • sorry i forgot what I wrote, I’m not a pro lemmy user and not sure how to see full comment chain. However, I likely remarked on lack of womens rights in Iran, which anyone remarking lack of womens rights in Islamic countries, is not racist, but just stating facts. Facts that I’m sure some people are upset about. I used to be friends with a woman from saudia arabia who told me personally about her trials and tribulations and trying to unsuccessfully escape the country many times.
