yup! I used that to pull my playlists from spotify and youtube to download my songs on soulseek. very powerful tool that worked great. just let it run on my server overnight and had all my songs by the morning.

I have soulseek/nicotine+ on my private server and I just use that. It’s really easy. If you ever used Napster or limewire or Kazaa or whatever it’s exactly like that.

journalctl and log files are very valuable. If it’s specific to an application running said application in a terminal with verbose also gives can potentially provide you with a clear indication of what’s going wrong.

Worse comes to worse you can always plug the error into an LLM like Claude or Chatgpt. But take that with a grain of salt. It’ll give you a good base to start from for debugging but never trust something like Claude that will constantly tell you “it’s a known issue” when it isn’t.

I do volunteer work for a couple of homeless groups in Toronto and a very common thing is homeless people can’t get bank accounts. Why? you need two forms of ID. In ontario a health card (which many homeless people have) is not accepted. So many banks will ask for an Ontario Photo ID (which requires an address and $35 plus other forms of ID) or a Passport and some other info. it’s a no go.

Ok no bank account but they can still work right? nope. Guess what the majority of employers pay via? that’s right, Direct Deposit. You HAVE to have a bank account for that. No bank account, no job.

I’ve know a few people that had gotten jobs while homeless but had to quit because there was no way for them to get paid. they couldn’t get a bank account, no bank would open one for them without proper forms of ID. Credit Unions were even worse.

The ONLY thing these people did wrong was someone stole their wallets at shelters or where ever. They played by the rules, jumped through hoops to get health cards and all that and are still told “that’s not good enough” they are people who CAN work and are told “no, you don’t have a bank account”

I also use Navidrome and I might rip off your setup today. Right now I use supersonic for my client and when I listen to music I like to just play by tracks and randomize it. The issue is supersonic isn’t really great with randomization. I’ve noticed it’s not random at all and will follow a pattern. A lot of players are bad with this.

But for the life of me I just can’t find a good navidrome/subsonic client. NONE of the tui’s allow you to just play all your tracks and randomize them. it’s either by artist, or album, or playlist and I dont’ want to throw 6000+ songs into a playlist. I just want to randomize all my music.

you know what’s fun and an easy way to learn painting? water colour pencil crayons (or whatever they’re called where you are) they’re great! basically they’re just like regular pencil crayons except you dip them in water and BOOM you’re painting!

I was always horrible with brushes. I could just never figure them out or get the brush to do what I wanted. I had no clue about which brushes to use or whatever but I really wanted to paint so I got frustrated. then I found these water colour pencil crayons and suddenly I could paint. once I practiced and figured out how to paint and I tried brushes again and I was able to figure it out much quicker.
