It basically happens every cycle, easy to go back all the way to George Bush Sr -> Clinton ( if not earlier).
But the problem is, the current economic boom is even more K-shaped than any other in recent history; half of the population are struggling worse than before, but their plight is masked by an incredible boom for the other half.
I can’t blame the working class for thinking back to ~2016, and remembering things fondly.
Trump will only make the current situation worse, but I can at least understand how the US ended up in its current predicament.

The GOP will just think of something snide to call it, Berniecare at best - CommieCare if they’re feeling spicy.
This is the same group of people who refused to call it the Democratic Party for so long, that “Democrat Party” (emphasis on the rat) has basically been normalised.
Glass is still the best medium, but it is relatively heavy and fragile - making per-unit costs significantly higher once all factors are accounted for (loss, logistics etc).
While it’s true that a few milligrams of plastic are burned off when cans are recycled - it is still infinitely better for the environment overall than single-use bottles.
The issue is more the blatant profiteering off people looking to do the right thing.
There is absolutely no reason for a small bottle of syrup to cost more per serve than buying multiple giant plastic bottles made up of 95% carbonated water.
Matter of fact, it’s counter-intuitive as you usually are charged more for a convenience (ie. a ready to go beverage), versus buying the ingredients separately.
Yes, and most of all he’s got to be able to cover the Xitter loan before it all goes tits up.

The heck kind of flavour is ‘all dressed’?
Not in any way defending Nintendo - seriously, fuck them, I will pirate their entire catalogue and not feel one iota of guilt.
But, what mix of those 87% of games no longer commercially available fall into one of these three categories:
So I guess what I’m asking is, what percentage of those games aren’t economically viable to resell, or are stuck in licence limbo?
You need to also account for 40+ years of inflation to boot. $400K is a lot now. In the 2060s, probably not so much.
Seconding this opinion; I really wish non-commercial vehicles were prohibited from defaulting to black/white/silver/grey - being back the skittles colour palette!
Apparently (this is like 2nd/3rd hand and I could be misremembering) - BMW motorbikes are ‘Beemers’, while BMW cars are ‘Bimmers’ (rhymes with dimmers).
A reverse Robin Hood; a “Robbin’ the ‘hood” if you will…
I think you’re getting confused by the terminology; this is an explanation from the Wikipedia article.
The terms right- and left-hand drive refer to the position of the driver and the steering wheel in the vehicle and are, in automobiles, the reverse of the terms right- and left-hand traffic.
ETA: So the red areas have left-hand drive and right-hand traffic, while the blue areas have right-hand drive and left-hand traffic.
Chart taken from Investopedia’s article on K-shaped Recovery; but the underlying principle is the same: Some parts of the economy are performing so well that it masks the other sectors which are struggling.
i.e. the rich are getting so much wealthier, that when looking at the overall average the number is trending positively and not showing that the rest of society is getting poorer. This is one of the reasons when using aggregate measures, the median value is significantly more valuable than the average.
