This sounds like exactly the sort of thing that the Democrats are too spineless to ever do.

The key problem is that it requires the support of the other seven justices, four of whom are Republicans.

I read a while ago of two strategies to combat this:

        1. Swap the justices to other life-long positions in different federal courts, and swap in other life-long federal judges
        2. Grow the Supreme Court

If I recall correctly, these were explained as plans that the President has the power to do without needing legislative approval.

I never looked into whether these claims were accurate.

#2 can actually work, but it requires the Senate to go along with it. There hasn’t been a majority in favor of it to date.

While I agree they go way too easy on Republicans, this was literally authored by a prominent Democrat, it’s way more likely for them to actually do this than a lot of the average stuff the news says they should.

Jamie Raskin is a prominent Democrat in the same way AOC is a prominent Democrat - not because of his influence over the party, but because he stands out for having a backbone and some integrity. He is sadly not representative of the party as a whole.
