I don’t think that deputising a few people is going to disarm Donnie. Especially after their ruling that any “official acts” he makes are legal and legitimate.
No, it won’t. But that’s the not the point. The point is that the Supreme Court has the power to enforce their decisions if they have to.
In part of the deputization, they can appoint the power to the Marshal of the Supreme court to deputize necessary individuals.
If Roberts does feel the Supreme Court power is threatened he can do something about it. If he doesn’t it’s an indication he’s in agreement with Trump’s power.
It largely hasn’t been necessary, but it is there.
