    The moments before the implosion were something that no one should ever need to feel in their lives.

    Just to this point - it would have happened too fast for them to even register anything was happening. Complete destruction would occur in 1/20th of a second. (Per Insider/Naval History Magazine)

      Not the actual implosion part, but more of the “We’re too low and we can’t get back to a safe depth.”

      From what I understand, this vessel went on a couple other dives, so I imagine this time something went wrong that caused the vessel to go deeper than it was supposed to. Which had to be scary knowing that you have mere seconds of life left.
