Driving me insane that all of these “trends” of “bad” zoomers or millenials is literally that generation’s regression to the mean. Sorry, but half-assing it so you don’t get burned out is how it’s always been done. You tried to turn people born after 1985 into good little drones that would work extremely long hours for no compensation, and that worked for a while, but people get tired eventually.

They realize they have to stay at their current job because of financial obligations and responsibilities, but they’re not ready to leave the position, for one reason or another.

Yeah, because of the financial obligations and responsibilities. Do editors just not exist anymore?

Just the typical financial horseshit of “someone is only being productive if they’re working every single moment of every single day.” Ignoring what “productivity” actually means and ignoring how profit is actually even generated. Nope, if you aren’t working 8 hours with no breaks between tasks and if every task isn’t directly correlated to my profit margins that means you’re lazy and unproductive!

they are literally going to give a nobel prize in economics (which is a fake nobel prize to begin with) to whoever comes up with the first capitalist economic model that can explain that workers do not like having their profits stolen from them.

Nonsense, workers love having profits stolen from them. It is simply the barriers to entry to find new jobs has gotten too high.

Doing the bare minimum lets the worker derive D amount of surplus value. There is an amount, T , that workers would be willing to pay to be able to switch to a job that they enjoy doing more, however the job search and resume crafting costs workers an amount of work, say R.

R - T < D will cause an employee to switch jobs and potentially be more productive, so we must make machine reading of resumes illegal subsidize career matching companies to help workers find the job of their dreams for a nominal fee, F , where F < R

D should also be reduced. In our institutes sampling, D declines dramatically when workers receive death threats, assisting in the lubrication of worker mobility to areas of enhanced productivity in the free market.

And that effect continues to be recorded profits for the companies and 80% of people living paycheck to paycheck so they can shut the fuck up and preferably remove themselves from the conversation in the most sudden way possible.

“OK quiet quitting didn’t work let’s invent another new word to describe the feeling of workers not voluntarily exploiting themselves”

Also love how the rugged individualists absolutely crap their pants the second an individual doesn’t spit shine a corporations boot.

Yea but everybody told them to shut up and fuck off when they tried that so they’ve invented a new different word that means the exact same thing.

    I tried that…

    They still slashed my hours

And now they threaten me everyday to saddle on new roles or I get terminated.

I’m literally being coerced into working harder for less money and I can’t be any more miserable
